Schools & Libraries
Since 1986, language teachers around the world have used Muzzy to teach languages because it was the first video course.
Teachers realised that Muzzy had an amazing and engaging story and that children enjoyed the video and wanted to watch it over and over again.
But Muzzy was not designed for schools. It was a self-study course. It was not until the late 1990s that we decided, at the request of teachers, to create a curriculum based on the British Council and then based on the CERF, so that language teachers could use the course in a school setting.
In 2015 we introduced the new course for schools and it has already been adopted for basic education in countries such as Sweden, Denmark and Norway which have some of the best education systems in the world.
The key to Muzzy's success is repetition. Both its engaging videos and over 700 online games keep students interested and they repeat the activities over and over again. That's the magic secret of Muzzy.
The course can be used using the course's own curriculum (following CERF) or any other school curriculum because of its incredible flexibility. Teachers can give simple numerical codes so that students only do the activities the teacher wants, for example watching videos, reading or playing online games. Or they can let children freely explore the course. Teachers can select activities depending on whether their students are readers or not.
Schools and libraries worldwide use Muzzy for language learning for children ranging from 2 to 16 years old. We have specific products with materials for teachers that we call guided learning.
